Is your career your job or is it your occupation? Yes it can be. But to me, your career is bigger than your occupation.
You cannot just stick to one job and call it your career. It is rare these days to see individuals with one job. Because of this, there is the need to learn more to gain varying experiences to take control over your future.
You can build your career around the following:
- set out your goals;
- get the needed training to acquire varying skills;
- forecast into the future in the world of work and future work trends.
What is a Career?
A career is a job for which you are trained and in which it is possible to advance during your working life, so that you can get greater responsibility and earn more money. However, some people do paid or unpaid jobs as their career. Sometimes it is about what you enjoy doing amongst your peers and family.
Start your Career
What do you want to do with your life after High School, College or University Education? The reason why I asked this question is that, it is not everybody who are willing to work in the public sector (which is even hard to find). Some will actually want to be in the public sector, others will want to start their own businesses and others both.
I know of a friend who is a teacher at the junior high school level and also doing a car washing business. He has employed somebody there and joins the person after he closes from school. He is making it big in his car washing business more than his teaching profession. You can also do this and even better. But remember it is about what you enjoy doing.
The time has come for me to take you through how to build your career which is all about starting your own business.
Hey Guys, don’t get scared when I mention ‘starting your own business’. You don’t need much to start. Perhaps, you can do this at the comfort of your home. You don’t need office space that charge higher rates.
